It appears that OPPO is working on a new F series smartphone. Ahead of the unveiling, the upcoming OPPO F5 has been spotted in advertisements in the Philippines. The adverts show Alden Richards and Sarah Geronimo holding the OPPO F5, who are the brand’s celebrity endorsers in the Philippines. The images don’t reveal much about the details of the new OPPO phone, apart from the black and red colour options.
The adverts have the “capture the real you” tagline, which suggests towards the presence of a dual camera setup on the front for selfies. According to the reports, the phone will offer a 6-inch full HD+ display bearing an aspect ratio of 18:9. The device is expected to arrive with minimum bezels. The adverts reveal that the OPPO F5 will have a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, which will be a first for the OPPO F series devices. Unfortunately, no other details of the phone are available at the moment.
As far as the most recently launched F series smartphone is concerned, the company introduced the OPPO F3 Diwali Edition in India. The phone comes with a vibrant red garb and gold trimmings. Apart from these changes, the device is the same as the regular variant of the OPPO F3. The phone is priced at Rs 18,990, and will go on sale exclusively on Amazon India starting today, and in limited quantities offline. It comes bundled with a free cricket bat as well.
As for the specs, the OPPO F3 comes with a 16MP and 8MP dual camera setup on the front. At the rear, you get a 13-megapixel primary shooter. The phone offers a 5.5-inch full HD display, and is powered by a 1.5GHz octa-core MediaTek processor, mated to 4GB of RAM. The other specs include 64GB of expandable storage, 4G LTE, VoLTE, ColorOS based on Android Marshmallow and a 3,200mAh battery.
